‘The Property of Mrs Richard Ford’

90 – ‘Landscape with two herons, one in flight, the other standing by some reeds. This drawing, from the collection of Lord Essex (Girtin’s patron), was given by him to Mr. Richard Ford, the well-known collector, his son-in-law, in April, 1824, in whose family it has since remained’. Bought by ‘Colnaghi’ for £170 (TG1570)
